OUR FINAL PROJECT! 08.01.09

Pure Tone is proud to announce that our final outside A&R project will be "Save Me San Francisco," the fifth studio album (and first in almost four years) from the band Train. It will be released by Columbia Records on October 27th, 2009. Thank you to everyone who has supported all of our projects since we started Pure Tone's independent A&R division in late 2003. It's been a blast!

DAUGHTRY RETURN! 07.05.09

GET READY FOR HALESTORM! 04.11.09

Halestorm are set to unleash their self-titled Atlantic Records debut on April 28th. Produced by Howard Benson and A&R'd by Pure Tone's Pete Ganbarg, the album features 12 incredible songs that announce the arrival of an amazing new group. Joe, Josh, Arejaye and lead singer Lzzy Hale are already all over radio with their first song "I Get Off," currently #38 on Active Rock radio, before the label even officially impacts the track this coming week! Go see one of their amazing live shows and remember the name - you will be hearing A LOT about Halestorm!

KELLY RETURNS WITH A #1 SMASH! 01.24.09

The long awaited return of Kelly Clarkson has begun, with the new smash "My Life Would Suck Without You," the first single from her forthcoming album, "All I Ever Wanted," due March 10th on 19/RCA. "My Life Would Suck," written by Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Claude Kelly, and produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin, has broken the all time record and leaps from #97 to #1 on the current Billboard Hot 100! Congratulations Kelly! The song has exploded at radio and at iTunes where it hit #1 in less than 24 hours from release. "All I Ever Wanted" is currently in the final mixing phase (with our friend, the amazing Serban Ghenea) and features production from the aforementioned Luke and Max, as well as from Howard Benson, Ryan Tedder, Sam Watters & Louis Biancianello with Dre & Vidal, as well as from Kelly herself. The album was A&R'd by Pure Tone's Pete Ganbarg.

DAVID COOK! 10.18.08

Pure Tone is proud to announce the completion of American Idol Champ David Cook's debut album, to street everywhere on Tuesday, 11/18. This will be a busy fall for David, who is completing his debut video for "Light On" this week and then preps for his post-Idol TV debut on the 11/1 episode of Saturday Night Live! The self-titled debut features 12 songs as well as the bonus track, "Time Of My Life." David worked with some amazing songwriters, producers (the great Rob Cavallo), and musicians on this album and we are all thrilled with how it came out. Make sure to order yours now. Rumor has it that the iTunes version will have a bonus track ONLY available to those who pre-order the album, starting on Tuesday, 10/21. Check it out!

NEW ALBUMS! 09.03.08

As we say goodbye to summer, Pure Tone is excited to see some of the projects we've been hard at work on make their way to the public over the next several months. Starting this week, Michael Lington's eagerly awaited new studio album, "Heat," is now available everywhere on NuGroove Records. "Heat" features the Smooth Jazz/Smooth AC radio hit, "You & I," as well as collaborations with singers Aaron Neville ("That's When You Save Me") and Ace Young ("Baker Street"). Next Tuesday, 9/9, sees the release of "Daughtry Deluxe," the expanded edition of the record-breaking debut by Chris Daughtry and his band. "Daughtry Deluxe" features all the songs from the original album, as well as four new audio tracks (including "Feels Like The First Time," featured prominently on CNN this election season), all five Daughtry music videos, two new live videos, and an exclusive interview with Chris and the band. And, last but certainly not least, the much-anticipated debut by David Cook will be everywhere in November. We're 10 songs in right now and they sound great! Rob Cavallo is at the helm and doing an amazing job! More news soon!

NEW DAUGHTRY VIDEO! 07.15.08

The video to the final single to be released from Daughtry's record-setting 4X platinum debut album is now complete. "What About Now" world-premiered this past Friday on FNMTV and will be in heavy rotation on VH1 and MTV this coming week. "What About Now" is the fifth single to be released to Pop and Hot AC radio and the seventh single overall. The new video is a powerful testament to the lyrics of this amazing song.

VARSITY FANCLUB ARE ON THEIR WAY! 06.06.08

Capitol Records' great new vocal group Varsity Fanclub are getting ready to explode. Their first single, "Future Love" (written by the incredible Ryan "Alias" Tedder and his partner in crime Evan "Kidd" Bogart), has been added into full-time rotation on Radio Disney and was even heard last night on New Orleans' Top 40 radio powerhouse B97! The guys (Bobby, David, Drew, Jayk and Thomas) just taped an episode of ABC Family's "The Middleman," which will air on July 21st. They'll be hitting the road soon and will soon be in a city near you. Check 'em out! Their forthcoming album was co-A&R'd by Pure Tone's Pete Ganbarg and Capitol's A&R superstar, Chris Anokute, alongside of our friends Phoenix Stone and Sybil Hall of the great StoneHall productions. Get ready for the VFC!

DONNA SUMMER'S "CRAYONS" IS HER HIGHEST CHARTING ALBUM IN 25 YEARS! 05.28.08

Donna Summer's "Crayons" leaps on to the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart this morning all the way up at #17, becoming her highest charting album since "She Works Hard For The Money" peaked at #9 in 1983. "Crayons" sold over 22,000 copies first week. It also debuts at #5 on Billboard's Top R&B Album Chart. Donna is in the middle of a high-profile press blitz, appearing on the season finale of "American Idol" and on "CBS Sunday Morning" last week and performing live on NBC's Today Show's Summer Concert Series this coming Friday, May 30th.

THE "SUMMER OF SUMMER" STARTS TODAY! 05.20.08

"Crayons," the long awaited return by the legendary Donna Summer is finally out today! Check out this rave three star review from Steve Jones in USA Today. And keep an eye out for Donna everywhere; she just might surprise you where she may show up this week. "Crayons," featuring all new songs co-written by Donna with some of the best creative talent around, was preceded by two singles: "I'm A Fire," the #1 Club anthem, and "Stamp Your Feet," the infectious lead radio track. The "Stamp Your Feet" remixes have just been serviced to clubs everywhere and have already debuted on the Billboard Club chart at #48, first week out. Donna will perform a free outdoor concert as part of NBC's "Today Show" concert series on Friday, May 30th in New York City, which kicks off her summer tour, one that will take her across the US through the end of August.

THE NEVILLE BROTHERS COME HOME TO NEW ORLEANS 05.05.08

Pure Tone client Aaron Neville and The Neville Brothers celebrated their long-awaited return to post-Katrina New Orleans with a blistering set that closed the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival yesterday, in front of a crowd estimated to be well over 100,000 people. Aaron, Art, Cyril and Charles were joined by some of the brightest stars in New Orleans music and beyond, including George Porter Jr., sons Ivan and Ian Neville, the incredible Trombone Shorty and Pure Tone client Carlos Santana, who had headlined his own incredible set earlier in the day The Neville Brothers are celebrating their 30th anniversary in music and their homecoming at JazzFest kicked off what's certain to be an incredible year, filled with more milestones to come. Thanks to Kent Sorrell of the Elevation Group for his great N'awlins hospitality. For those of you who have never been to JazzFest, sign up for '09 now!

DAUGHTRY: NOW QUADRUPLE PLATINUM! 04.30.08

"Daughtry," the self-titled debut from the band led by Chris Daughtry, has (per Nielsen SoundScan) passed the magical four million sales mark today and is now officially a quadruple platinum phenomenon. The album, released in November of 2006, has been a fixture near the top of the sales charts since its debut and hits this amazing milestone in its 75th week of release. With the singles "It's Not Over," "Home," "Over You," and "Feels Like Tonight" all becoming hits at mainstream radio (and with the fifth single, "What About Now," heading to radio in June), the band's music has captivated the public since its release. Congratulations to Chris, Josh, JP, Brian and Joey on such an incredible accomplishment and congratulations as well to Howard Benson, whose stellar production has lifted this album to such extraordinary heights.

Congratulations to Donna Summer, whose new dance track "I'm A Fire" has just leaped from *4 - *1 on Billboard Magazine's Club Chart. This is Donna's first #1 Billboard Club record in almost 10 years! The buzz is building for "Crayons", Donna's first brand new studio album in 17 years. "Crayons" will be available everywhere on Tuesday, May 20th and is already available for pre-orders now. The first radio single from the album, "Stamp Your Feet," will be shipped to radio next week. Call your local station and tell them that you want Donna! Donna Summer's first release from her forthcoming album "Crayons," the club set-up track "I'm A Fire," is now available on iTunes, Amazon, and all other online digital retailers in the US. It will be released, digitally, in the rest of the world next Monday, 3/17. The cut is the currently the most active mover on the Billboard Club Chart, debuting at *28 and rising to *23 this week, making it the current chart's "Power Pick." Donna is currently putting the finishing touches on the rest of the new album which will be released everywhere on Tuesday, May 20th.

THE QUEEN IS BACK: DONNA SUMMER MAKES LONG-AWAITED RETURN WITH FIRST STUDIO ALBUM IN 17 YEARS! 02.25.08

Donna Summer's first studio album in 17 years, "Crayons," will be released by SonyBMG/Burgundy on May 20th. Featuring a killer collection of new material, "Crayons" will include tracks co-written by Donna with an amazing cast of collaborators: Greg Kurstin, Danielle Brisebois, JR Rotem, Evan Bogart, Danielle Brisebois, Toby Gad and Wayne Hector are just some of the creative names involved in this incredible return-to-form. The first song to emerge from "Crayons" is "I'm A Fire," mixes of which are currently spreading like (you guessed it...) fire throughout clubs around the world. Billboard Magazine was the first to publicly announce the news about "Crayons" earlier today. "Crayons" was A&R'd by Pure Tone's Pete Ganbarg, who also signed Donna to Burgundy. At tonight's 50th anniversary Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, two of Pure Tone's artist clients are nominated for a combined six awards. Daughtry is up for four, including Best Rock Album for the band's best-selling eponymous debut; Chaka Khan is up for two, including Best R&B Album for her incredible return to form, "Funk This." Additionally, our good friend (and Daughtry's producer) Howard Benson is nominated for Producer Of The Year. Congratulations to all and good luck!

According to Billboard Magazine, the self-titled debut album by Daughtry has been named the top selling album of 2007. Billboard based its numbers on Nielsen SoundScan's annual tally, for the year beginning December, 2006 and ending November, 2007. "Daughtry" was recorded in the summer of 2006, mainly in Los Angeles, and was produced by Howard Benson, whose terrific work on the album has garnered him a Grammy nomination for Producer of The Year. Two albums A&R'd by Pure Tone's Pete Ganbarg have been honored by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences today with six Grammy nominations! Daughtry received four: Best Rock Album, Best Rock Song for "It's Not Over," Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group for "It's Not Over," and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group for "Home." Chaka Khan received two for her incredible album, "Funk This:" Best R&B Album and Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group for "Disrespectful," her collaboration with Mary J. Blige. The Grammy Awards will be presented on February 10th, 2008. Congratulations Chris and Chaka!

Well, the long wait is finally over as Blake Lewis' major label debut, Audio Day Dream, is released today! Look for Blake everywhere over the next few weeks as his massive promo schedule kicks into high gear. And check out this album review from The New York Daily News' Jim Farber. He calls "Audio Day Dream" an album that "works perfectly" and calls it the "best album by any "Idol" alum yet." Have you heard "A.D.D." yet??

HUMAN NATURE'S "GET READY" DEBUTS AT #2 IN AUSTRALIA! 11.26.07

Human Nature's brand new album, "Get Ready" has debuted in the Australian album charts this week at number 2 and has already been certified gold! The album, the final release in the group's Motown trilogy, features vocal collaborations with some of Motown's biggest original stars: Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, Mary Wilson of The Supremes, and Martha Reeves of Martha & The Vandellas. All six of these duet tracks were put together by Pure Tone's Pete Ganbarg, working in tandem with SonyBMG Australia's Jay "Dee" Springbett. Smokey Robinson accompanied the group on a week long promo run of Australia last week. Look for good things to continue for Human Nature and their "Get Ready" album through the end of this year and beyond...

BLAKE LEWIS' FIRST ALBUM REVIEW: THE L.A. TIMES RAVES OVER "AUDIO DAY DREAM!" 11.24.07

The Los Angeles Times has posted the first published review of Blake Lewis' forthcoming album, "Audio Day Dream" and it's a three star rave! Some of the highlights: "mercilessly catchy," and "delicious ear candy." "Audio Day Dream" will be released on December 4th.

DAUGHTRY WINS! 3 FOR 3 AT THE AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS!! 11.20.07

Congratulations to Daughtry! Chris and his band took home three awards this past Sunday night at the annual American Music Awards in LA. Daughtry was honored as Breakthrough Artist, Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist and Favorite Pop/Rock Album. The band continues to tour constantly and will hit the road with Bon Jovi for a string of dates in early '08.

Blake Lewis, the American Idol finalist from Bothell, Washington, whose edgy beat boxing and modern approach to a wide variety of musical genres made him a fan favorite, has now completed his debut album, "Audio Day Dream." The finishing touches were applied this weekend and we are happy to report that the album has now shipped to the plant to begin being manufactured for a 12/4 release. The album's first single, "Break Anotha," will be available on iTunes this coming Tuesday, 11/13, and will officially impact radio the week of 11/19. A formal press release with more details about "Audio Day Dream" will be released this coming week. We are absolutely thrilled with how this album came out and look forward to all of Blake's fans, both old and new, getting a chance to hear it!

BILLBOARD MAGAZINE RAVES: BLAKE LEWIS' SINGLE "BREAK ANOTHA" HITS THE BULL'S-EYE! 11.09.07

Blake Lewis' debut single "Break Anotha" doesn't impact radio for another 10 days but Billboard Magazine has already printed their rave review. The finishing touches to "Audio Day Dream" are happening as we type this and the album will be available in stores and on line everywhere on Tuesday, December 4th.
